Semester Reflection

Looking Back... At the beginning of the year I was terrified because I did not know who everyone was and I thought I was going to be a loner. I became friends with Sydney and Mallory which helped. We have been doing convergence journalism, in my opinion, it sucks. I think entertainment will be better.  The projects we have done are: basic procedure, an audio story, an ONW now feature story, a report on the school blood drive, and out ONW Now segment. The key invent of this semester was Allam getting fired. It really messed up the flow of the class because the sub knew nothing, I personally did not enjoy her company, and everyone was confused about what to do. The other key event was producing the ONW Now show. It was kind of stressful having to plan things out and make sure everything got finished. I did enjoy my group, we worked smoothly. The class did not have enough computers for everyone so someone had to use the teacher's, but a student left the class so a free compute...

Real Life Vampires

Image
For this project we went to the blood drive at Olathe Northwest on Friday 13th, November. We were taking a point of view from a donor, nurse, or STUCO member. I chose to take the point of view from a donor. I wrote questions as a guide to ask the donors then I went to the Flex Theater where the blood drive was taking place. I captured b-roll along with interviews at the same time. The next day I uploaded the video to the computer and edited it on Final Cut Pro. My video is 1 minute long to fit the time space. Next time I would bring a microphone to capture the audio better of the interviews and plan my shots better so I wouldn't be scrambled. I was in a rush trying to get all the b-roll and interviews I needed.

The Good Vampires

This is a vlog type of video of a man and and woman going to a blood drive at a church. He filmed him and the woman through the whole process of getting their blood drawn. They went to the Red Cross Blood Drive that was at Highland Baptist Church. This video showed how the process worked of getting your blood drawn, but it was not a clear story. The man was telling the story. The video was very shaky, did not have voice overs, had music in the background, and was shot at poor angles. He did do a good job at showing each step and it was in focus, that is all I would apply. The creator showed the emotions, but was shaky and had a stupid camera lens. It distorted the view. There was background music the whole time and it switched between two music choices in the middle. In the beginning of the video the music was solemn, but in the second half of the video it was upbeat. It was a poor tasted in music and had no relevance to the whole video. He should have not had background music in t...

Professional Article Review

About This article is about how people feel uncomfortable about reporters ambushing them electronically for information on a report. Now that people can "live tweet" events, new reporters want accurate information they can give the public and quickly. Article Review This author takes the standpoint that it is a reporters job to give accurate information to the public. He says that journalists have been saying the public misinterpret their actions,"this how news is gathered and how the pubic gets accurate information when news breaks"(Farhi). Before this news reporters would knock on doors or ask strangers. The article does not show a clear standpoint of whether or not they agree with the claim that new reporters are attacking people via social media or not. The article gives plenty of evidence that is relevant. The author summarizes what happened in Oregon and how reporters are getting backlash for trying to get information about the event. My Critique The ...

Jasmeet's Interview

This is my audio only interview with Jasmeet. The story is about when she was at the One Direction concert and choked on water. She felt bad the whole time, but as the song "Rock Me" played she began to feel faint and almost passed out.

How To: Hexadecimal, RGBA, and RGB

Image
Color Codes Today I shall teach you about hexadecimal, rgb, and rgba colors. I will also teach you how to use the rgba colors in Dreamweaver. Hexadecimal and rgb makes it easier to manipulate how dark and light a color is compared to telling Dreamweaver light blue, which could not be the right shade for you. This gives you the power to get the color you specifically need. This is especially helpful in web design so your server knows which exact color needs to be used because this is an almost universal code. Color Words: Color words are colors written is words hence "color words" You do not have as much control over the shade and tint of the color In a code you will type the color name Example: Website:   Color Words List   Hexadecimal:  The hexadecimal color code is a 6 word and or number combination. The tag starts with # then RRGGBB.  The R stands for red, G stands for green, and B stands for blue.  ...
