Semester Reflection
Looking Back...
At the beginning of the year I was terrified because I did not know who everyone was and I thought I was going to be a loner. I became friends with Sydney and Mallory which helped. We have been doing convergence journalism, in my opinion, it sucks. I think entertainment will be better.
The projects we have done are: basic procedure, an audio story, an ONW now feature story, a report on the school blood drive, and out ONW Now segment.
The key invent of this semester was Allam getting fired. It really messed up the flow of the class because the sub knew nothing, I personally did not enjoy her company, and everyone was confused about what to do. The other key event was producing the ONW Now show. It was kind of stressful having to plan things out and make sure everything got finished. I did enjoy my group, we worked smoothly.
The class did not have enough computers for everyone so someone had to use the teacher's, but a student left the class so a free computer opened up. It ended well but began rough.

New Skills
This semester I learned how to do voice overs, and learned that I
1.) do not like them
2.) do not have a good voice over voice
Most of the stuff I already knew how to use on Final Cut Pro, but I did learn about key wording my clips to make it easier, not really. They were more of a hassle than a helpful tool. Next time I will just favorite and reject my clips. I also learned how to use the Panasonic cameras, not fun. They are too bulky and I don't think they shoot as good of quality compared to a DLSR. Some of the tripods are wonky and too bulky to move around easily. I broke a sweat most of the time moving the tripod around, then again I sweat easily.
I think I did well managing my time in class for projects and using time outside of class. For my ONW Now feature story I shot a lot of my clips outside of class because that was the best time to do it. I even missed lunch for it, I was not happy and I'm still a bit bitter.
Next Semester
Next semester I am going to try and edit my videos on time and do better blog posts. At this moment I tend to be behind when editing my videos, then I rush to finish them. My blog posts tend to be low quality because I am not into blogging about my projects, so my motivation is low.
