Final Project

My First Website

For my final semester project I had to create a website about a topic I am interested in. Originally I wanted my website to be about potatoes because potatoes are the best thing ever. Have  you seen how many different types of food you can make with them? Not to mention it helped the 18th century society from starving all the time. Unfortunately someone took my idea and got Mr. Olson to approve before I did. My next choice was nature photography. I like photography as a whole, but I am more interested in nature, people are too much stress. By doing nature photography it made it easier for me because we had to use free or uncopyrighted photos, but I could use my own photos.
While I was researching tips about nature photography I learned some new information, but also old. I knew about the rule of thirds, lighting tips, and taking pictures in the rain. I was not aware of some of the tricks, but I had already known to do it. I did learn that overcast helped increase saturations and what type of camera lenses I should be using. 
While creating the layout I learned how to use max width and how it could impact a website. It took me a while to figure out how where in the css tags it should go, but I eventually figured it out. 
I never followed the timeline exactly, but I did finish my project in time. I spent too much time on my banner when I could have been doing my webpage. Next time I would spend less time on my banner. I definitely could have improved the look of my banner, but I think it turned out well for the look I was trying to achieve on my site. 

In the Future

If I were to do this project again I would spend more time on my css and content rather than trying to perfect my banner. I spent a day or two on the banner and an hour or so on the banner. If I spent maybe a day on it I could have spent more time adding information on my site and make the css better. I would keep the layout of my site the way it is because I personally prefer a navigation bar horizontally. The content would be the same, but add some more breaks or more pages, so the site wouldn't be so long on one page, but not others. In my next project I will definitely include max width, the horizontal navigation bar (hopefully spreads across the whole page) and manage my time better. I think my website turned out well. I liked that I added a slideshow type thing because it helped show some of my personal pictures and ones that I liked. It also added more content that was interesting.

Our group originally chose Courtney's script, but after shooting we realized that the footage was bad and trying to do a party scene would not work. Instead we chose my script, but revised it in order to be able to shoot it as efficiently as possible. My script was originally about a boy and girl who both suffered from social anxiety and together they are able to work on it and overcome it.  The pre-production process was rushed due to our time restraints. Courtney spent a day revising the script to reduce the amount of locations we had to go to. I called a couple coffee shops to see if we could film there, but ended up filming everything at JCCC. I also created shot lists for our shoot day in order to try and give some structure and efficiency. Courtney was our actress and she found Danny for our actor. The Hidden Premiere

My Role  My role in The Hidden was costume designer. It was difficult to plan all the outfits in advance due to filming dates being moved around so I did not have the ability to plan in advance as much as I would have liked. it was also kind of difficult to come up with a variety of costumes that weren't boring and repetitive. I learned that it was important to communicate with the actors in advance and have good communication with the director so we are on the same page for the vibe of it. I think my work was alright, it didn't make much of an impact because it was everyday clothes. I have used my time 75/100 productively. Sometimes I would work on graphic/photoshop projects in my free time or client work. I watch movies and a variety of shows outside of class. I think I am decent at time management and leadership.
