Web Final Reflection
In the Beginning….
I was horrified of coming into the class and having
no friends-a typical high schooler worry- but luckily I had Kaylee and Tori. I
walked in on the first day and found my friends and sat at the tables to begin
the problems of burning eyes from staring at computer screens for a long
time. The first project we did was on
Text Mate where I learned and refreshed my coding skills. It was helpful to refresh my forgotten coding
from the summer. Later in the first quarter we began working on Dreamweaver. We
transferred our Text Mate knowledge over to Dreamweaver to advance our skills.
The Between…
It
was good to work in Dreamweaver because this is what professionals use and it
gives us a “real life” experience. One of my biggest struggles of this class
was remembering all the past coding information form freshman year and
implementing it into this year’s projects. I have gotten better at problem
solving on my own, but I still make stupid mistakes that I overlooked. My
knowledge of HTML coding has blossomed and is more advanced, but still
mediocre.
Although, I am not going into Web
Design next year I can use this knowledge in the future, such as college, if I
change my mind or want to begin a blog. I can manipulate coding myself and
customize my website into my own. I
definitely need to work on my time management skills because I have gone
overtime on my projects that end up being late. I have big ideas, but cannot
always achieve them or perfect them in my time frame. For example, my Past
Present and Future project was supposed to look like a film reel, but it did
not turn out as well as I wanted or imagined. My transitions were not how I
wanted them and the front was just a poor choice overall. I can definitely turn
that experience and knowledge and use it in a future project to improve.
Farewell…
This was a good year for me. I have
slowly come out of my hermit shell, but I still go in there quite a lot. I have
discovered that Georgia is my favorite classy font. Mr. Olson, shout out to you,
because you are the best teacher around and bomb af (please don’t dock points
for af). I will miss sitting in the dark room and just chilling and doing my
thing in here. I will always be shocked when I see this room in full
light. Web Design will always be one of
my best classes.
