Web Final Reflection

In the Beginning….          I was horrified of coming into the class and having no friends-a typical high schooler worry- but luckily I had Kaylee and Tori. I walked in on the first day and found my friends and sat at the tables to begin the problems of burning eyes from staring at computer screens for a long time.   The first project we did was on Text Mate where I learned and refreshed my coding skills.   It was helpful to refresh my forgotten coding from the summer. Later in the first quarter we began working on Dreamweaver. We transferred our Text Mate knowledge over to Dreamweaver to advance our skills.            The Between… It was good to work in Dreamweaver because this is what professionals use and it gives us a “real life” experience. One of my biggest struggles of this class was remembering all the past coding information form freshman year and implementing it into thi...

Final Reflection

In the Beginning of time….             I was a terrified potato with not many acquaintances or friends in this class. I already had basic knowledge of video from freshman year video. The first project we did was a basic skills video showing the six shot sequence. I partnered with Katie, who I have known since elementary school-thank Jesus it was someone I knew. Our video was pretty good and we clearly displayed how to log in to the student Wi-Fi.               I soon became closer friends with Mallory, Sydney and more acquainted with Alyssa. I also got my first dose of Roan, which I think I regret. Throughout first semester I came out of my hermit shell and less of recluse. Unfortunately, I did discover some not so great people; I won’t name names…at MB.             In the middle of the semester we did a step-by...

Responsive Web Desing

Image
Intro Responsive web design provides optimal viewing and interaction for viewers. Having a responsive site makes it easy to read and navigate a site with different viewing platforms from a large iMac to a small screened smartphones. Media queries enable the CSS to adapt to the different screen sizes. To get the display to adjust you must define the breakpoint where the CSS will change styles. Example The website I chose was a by one of my favorite blogger In the Frow:  http://www.inthefrow.com/

Photo Composition

Image
This project was a website focused on the important rules of photo composition because photography is becoming more important and used in web design. Design To start the layout I used a basic layout format I created a couple months ago that I can use for any project that has all basic html elements. I made my header with a photo I took in  California of the skyline. I chose to focus on the rule of thirds, symmetry, point of view, background, depth perception, natural frame, space to move, filling the frame, contrast, avoiding the middle, pop of colors, and breaking the rules because you always need a rule breaker. To show examples of the rules I took all of the pictures on my site. Most of the pictures I had previously done before the project. My favorite picture I took was the one I used for breaking the rules.  This is an example of breaking the rules because the subject, my dog, is in the very center and is not following the rule of thirds. It is also my favo...

Redesign of Olathe Northwest Website

Image
Prompt For this project we were given the task to redesign the school website. We could do whatever layout we wanted, but we had to make it on Adobe Illustrator. We were given some example websites we could make our new school website based off of. I chose to do this blog design. New Design This is what the old Olathe Northwest website looks like:  This is the new site: Instead of doing a plain white background I chose to do a gradient to add more color to the site. I also moved the navigation bar to the left because there would have not been enough room for the extra tabs. I kept the layout of pictures and a small header for the articles. I added a contact square to make an easy navigation.

Adobe Illustrator

Image
The Project For the past two weeks I have been working with Adobe illustrator to create graphics. I did a blueprint style, snazzy line page and chubby people. I liked doing the chubby people the most, but didn't enjoy the lines.  I have definitively decided that Adobe Illustrator is the best Blue Print Snazzy Lines Chubbies

Past, Present, Future

Image
About. This website is all about me! It starts from my past and goes all the way to my future. I created my layout on Photoshop and then completed the website on Dreamweaver. For my design I used the idea of a film reel. I chose it because I enjoy photography and I think film is hella cool. Process. The first step of this process required me to go onto Adobe Photoshop to create my layout and design. We did this so we could get an idea for the layout and to create our rollover images. I am not experienced with photoshop, so I learned a lot. I learned about the ruler and slicing to create separate images. It was a challenge getting my animations for rollovers saved correctly and working. I have a new disliking towards Photoshop, I prefer Illustrator. While in Dreamweaver it was a challenge getting my rollovers to work properly and getting the layout to look good. The rollovers took a while to install because I was struggling to save them properly so when you hovered over ...

Final Project

Image
My First Website For my final semester project I had to create a website about a topic I am interested in. Originally I wanted my website to be about potatoes because potatoes are the best thing ever. Have  you seen how many different types of food you can make with them? Not to mention it helped the 18th century society from starving all the time. Unfortunately someone took my idea and got Mr. Olson to approve before I did. My next choice was nature photography. I like photography as a whole, but I am more interested in nature, people are too much stress. By doing nature photography it made it easier for me because we had to use free or uncopyrighted photos, but I could use my own photos. While I was researching tips about nature photography I learned some new information, but also old. I knew about the rule of thirds, lighting tips, and taking pictures in the rain. I was not aware of some of the tricks, but I had already known to do it. I did learn that overcast helped inc...
